We wanted to remind you that the Elk Toss is on February 17, which also happens to be the same day as National Cabbage Day. Sauerkraut is made of cabbage. Coincidence?

Happy Groundhog Day

Weather Forecast

We have been getting thousands of requests for the weather forecast for the Elk Toss, and we have not been able to respond, but that soon will change. We are waiting for information from the groundhogs tomorrow, February 2, Groundhog Day. With a prediction of 6 more weeks or winter, we surely will have a cold and snowy Elk Toss. An early spring could mean sun and warmth.

Check out coverage of Punxsutawney Phil's forecast for yourself on February 2 starting at about 6:00 am on the Pennsylvania Cable Network, or live online from VisitPA.com. The actual annoucement of the forecast usually doesn't happen until around sunrise (about 7:25 am).

"well so much for passable.   woke up this morning to this:   it is unclear if that man in shorts is still near the driveway, it is also unclear what state this photo was taken in.   When the sun comes up I will go outside and see for myself.   I am hoping this image is simply something I found on goggle and NOT my actual driveway."
