Preliminary Elk Toss Date
The executive committee has set a preliminary date of February 16, 2013 for the 75th Annual Elk Toss, Winter Festival, and Charity Auction. More details to come later.

Mystery Photographer Identified
At the Elk Toss back in February, there was a professional looking photographer who was taking a lot of pictures of the event. Several asked about the identity of the photographer, and we soon found out that he was taking photographs for the Ted Yeager campaign for State Representative in the 107th District. Ted attended the Elk Toss as part of his campaign. We found some of the photographs on his campaign website (scroll to the bottom). Or you could just look at the photos that we borrowed from the site...

Preview of the 76th Annual Elk Toss
We are already planning the 76th Annual Elk Toss, Charity Auction, and Winter Festival. We are working on a few new events for the 76th, including:
- 10k Race (see course map)
- Deer Head Home Run Derby
- Closing Ceremonies to Open the Day
- Video Conference with President Rick Santorum
- Meat Helmets
- Tax Preparation Seminar
- Environmentally-friendly Scrapple Making Demonstration
- Universal Health Care
- New Location (TBA - due to the Wagners leasing their land for gas drilling)
- Coverage by WNEP-TV (including aerial helicopter footage)
- Flushable Toilet in the Franz Klingermann Memorial Outhouse
- People who "don't get it" will outnumber nice people

2012 Elk Toss Thanks

Post Elk Toss Newspaper Article
An article about the Elk Toss was published in the Daily Item's Sunday Item. It does not appear that the article was posted on their website, but they did post a photo album that includes 33 photos of our event, including these...
We plan to scan the article from the newspaper and post it to the blog at some point soon.
We also anticipate that the Danville News will publish an article tomorrow.

2012 Charity Results
We will be making donations to the following organizations:
Gatehouse Shelter in Danville - $1000
AGAPE (Bloomsburg) - $400
Centre County Women's Resource Center - $500
Easter Seals of Central Pennsylvania - $500
Church World Service, Lancaster - $500
We also collected a large volume of donations for the Danville-Riverside Food Bank. The Daily Item estimated that we had about 5 shopping carts worth of food.
