The Number One reason to attend the Elk Toss is..

...its our 75th Year!
It is hard to believe that the Danville German Society has been around that long, and we hope that this year will be our best Elk Toss, Charity Auction, and Winter Festival. In particular, we hope that we can continue our charitable work and raise more money this year than ever before.
In about 2001, the Danville German Society turned the Elk Toss into a charity event. Before that, we believe that the Elk Toss was more hairy and Scandinavian in nature. As mentioned in a previous blog post, our records were lost, so we do not have much information on that period.
Since 2001, the Danville German Society has been more involved in the community, and we have donated a total of at least $12,725 to various charities including:
