Elk Toss Saturday
MOORESBURG - The Elk Toss will be held Saturday on the Van Wagner farm, near Mooresburg .
Opening ceremonies start at 11:30 a.m., followed by events including elk bugling, scrap iron toss, salad toss, block shoot, beard contest and skateboard/scooter competition. There will be a charity auction.
There will be pot luck style food. The elk toss will start at 4 p.m. Proceeds will benefit The Gate House, among others. Attendees are asked to bring non-perishable foods to donate to the Danville-Riverside Food Ban and laundry detergent to donate to the Good Samaritan Mission of Danville, After the toss, participants will leave the farm and head to downtown Danville for a tour of the town. Wagner, the Brothers McMonagle and Fred iobst will entertain at 8 p.m. at Old Forge Brewing Co.
